Alan Copenhaver

Alan Copenhaver is a teacher and musician with over 30 years of experience in various genres of music. He holds a degree in Instrumental Music Education from East Tennessee State University. Prior to moving to Superior, he in taught public schools as a Band Director in Tennessee and Virginia where he was awarded Teacher of the year in 2004 (Middle School) and again in 2006 ( High School ). Before beginning his teaching career, Alan worked as a professional musician touring the U.S. with artists including Ava Barber of the Lawrence Welk Show. Alan offers instruction on woodwind instruments and several string instruments. From 5-string banjo to guitar and “mountain fiddle”, music theory and saxophone, he will customize personal private lessons for every student. His list of instruments includes Guitar ( folk, country,bluegrass,blues,classic rock, both electric and acoustic), 5-string Scruggs style Banjo, Fiddle, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Saxophone, and beginning to intermediate Band Instruments.
